Ultrafast Optical Logics at 200 Gbit/s and beyond:
we're exploring advanced functions for building ultrahigh-speed optical-logic systems instead of the conventional electronic ones. We study their fundamental properties in the pulse-CW gating regime (e.g. wavelength conversion and 2R regeneration in the optical communications systems) and in the pulse-pulse gating regime (e.g. 3R regeneration).

Ultrahigh-Frequency Optical-Clock Generation:
we're studying our original ultrahigh-frequency, ultrashort, mode-locked pulse laser scheme that contains an SMZ-DISC-type wavelength-convertor structure. We're designing and characterizing its ring cavity in the following three domains, that is, in the time domain [ps], in the optical-frequency domain [THz], and in the radio-frequency domain [GHz], almost independently.
