Philosophy of "SOLO-ist"

I think every people got answers for everything in mind.

For example, one falls in love.
The feeling to love existed in under conscious and the lover opened the mind door.

In the case of moving movie.
Watcher will be moved and sympathized by footage, words, scenery and feeling
expressions and imagines or sorrows movie character's feeling.
But it's just pushed button in mind by the movie.

People are living with ‘memories’.

Apart from being conscious or not, people put datas of huge ‘memories’ to
sleep in mind.
And most of it will not be used in life time.

When I got the idea of SOLO-ist performance, I decided ‘reminding
memories’ to be its theme.
Because it's unique emotion only for human and most mysterious magic that
percussion instruments have.

Dazzling sun ray through window, midsummer night's moon and shadow,
delighted voice by running child in green field, fresh scent of grasses,
memory of meet and parting. These are memories everyone have.

Without experience, people can imagine scenery and feeling as if they did
it.It can be translated into ‘imagination’.

The feeling that one Samurai warrior readies to his destiny and go fight
enemy with sharpened sword.
That's just imagination, but I think it can be memory when people imagine
the feeling with reality as their own matter.

The thought that immeasureable potentiality sleeps in mind led me to one
idea that everyone is completed ‘one’ and great ‘SOLO-ist’.

And when people face the question ‘What is my identity ?’, see himself and
trace memories to seek the answer.

I take this performance not just a music event but a ‘staging time and
space’.
To lead audience see drums and percussions as installation and see play
action as body performance on inevitability and see moving objects as
instruments ticking notes of light and shadow, I think I can stage time and
space far away from usual life time axis.

The moving object with wings staging space elegantly like orchestra
conductor.

The object its 2 glass plates lap over slidingly images ripple on lake.

Three objects growing mirror leaves move like leaves in the wind and give a
shower of light by lighting effects.

And Akira Horikoshi dances and bounds as ripping spaces.
The lean play form flows in music beautifully.
Responses the moment with the help of ‘sensitivity’ and go beyond the
music.

As for the just general recognition, it is probably a common idea that a
drum is not as a main existence in front of the performance. The people may
feel that it is outside the common sense because it seems that such a
concert by only one drum player is very difficult. But, the stereotype will
be able to be developed dramatically, and it will have to be renewed, if
audience's consciousness is just a little led from the usual viewpoint to
the additional dimension by the various time-space 3-4 dimensional)
production with the extreme expression like as Akira's play.

Akira Horikoshi is to express notion of Asian beauty by the drumming.

Noh's solemn echoes and Ma, Gamelan's bright coloration.

Indian classic music's intricately intertwined rhythms.

Pride as Asian is another theme of ‘SOLO-ist’.

The activities development which has 2 vectors as the new age and the
universality is the main point of this project with exchanging collaboration
with all the expression people who can sympathize with this plan without
being swayed by a genre, a difference in the country / culture, and so on.
